Ipswich 5 – Sunderland 2
Sunderland are plummeting towards League One.
The Black Cats are one of the biggest clubs in English football, however their in a horrible downward spiral.
After they were relegated from the Premier League last season, Simon Grayson has failed to halt the club’s slide down the leagues.
After ten rounds of the new season, Sunderland only have one win in the Championship. In total they’ve put six points on the board, with three draws and six defeats.
On Tuesday they were thumped 5-2 at Ipswich in another feckless performance.
The floodgates opened after just six minutes when former Sunderland former Martyn Waghorn scored.
Billy Jones headed home a corner to equalise soon after, but that’s as good as it got for Sunderland.
Jordan Spence put Ipswich back in front, and Waghorn backheeled for Bersant Celina to finish for 3-1.
David McGoldrick bundled home a fourth and although Aiden McGeady curled in, Grant Ward made it five for Ipswich.
Sunderland fans meltdown
Sunderland fans turned to social media to vent about their awful team.
Some claimed the Ipswich defeat was the worst result in the club’s history!
What’s incredibly obvious is that the supporters have little faith that the club can be turned around anytime soon.
The Sunderland meltdown on social media is below.
5-2. Worst defensive display I have ever seen from a Sunderland side.

Fans were refunded when Southampton humped us 8-0. That was worse tonight. 500 miles on a Tuesday night, 2 days off work. Fucking Sunderland

Sunderland. What a sorry state of affairs. Missed tackles, horrendous defending. Calamity is contagious there.
