Stoke 1 – Arsenal 0
The second gameweek of Premier League 2017/2018 produced another shock as Stoke stunned Arsenal at the Bet365 Stadium.
In recent seasons, despite public opinion to the contrary, Arsenal have had the better of Stoke, even at the latter’s home ground.
This continued at the back end of last season, when the Gunners won 4-1 at Stoke in May.
But, despite having loads of possession on Saturday, Arsenal lost in just their second game of the Premier League season.
New signing Jese Rodriguez did the damage for Stoke, with a goal a couple of minutes after half-time.
Stoke celebrate with a dressing room picture
After the game, a picture has gone viral amongst Stoke fans, showcasing the Potters team celebrating in the dressing room.
Featured in the picture are the likes of Jese Rodriguez, Sadio Berahino, Kurt Zouma, Xherdan Shaqiri, Ramadan Sobhi and Bruno Martins Indi.
And, the picture has already been jumped upon by Stoke fans as a way of Trolling Arsenal.
Arsenal love a celebratory selfie picture
In many ways, Arsenal made the celebratory Selfie picture their own, in football terms.
This Stoke picture will no doubt remind you of Arsenal after they beat Leicester at the Emirates with a late Danny Welbeck goal two seasons ago.
That win looked to have propelled Arsenal to the brink of the Premier League title but Leicester produced one of the finest title winning seasons of all time.
Whilst after Arsenal’s many FA Cup successes at Wembley we have been treated to a fair few pictures like the one below.
See the Stoke celebratory picture. We doubt the players were aiming this at Arsenal, but as the Tweet shows, some of their fans have taken it as a dig against the Gunners.
I know how the Arsenal lot love a selfie… pic.twitter.com/PkRgaf7nCU
