Spurs fans lay into Moussa Sissoko during Gent defeat
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino put out a strong side against Gent on Thursday night and his side fell to another defeat in Belgium.
This was pretty much the last thing Spurs needed after their 2-0 defeat at Liverpool and you wonder how the next week of key games will pan out for Pochettino and his team.
Fulham away in the FA Cup now looks like a serious banana skin. Wembley has hardly been a fortress for Spurs to finish the job against Gent and then comes the most important game, against a well rested Stoke side in the Premier League.
This is the time when Spurs needed a strong squad but whilst you could argue they have the best first XI in the top six, the rest of the options available to Poch are sub standard.
Sissoko, Janssen & N’Koudou
Besides Victor Wanyama, Spurs signed horribly in the summer with Moussa Sissoko, Vincent Janssen and Georges-Kévin N’Koudou struggling.
Janssen and N’Koudou are at least young and come from foreign leagues, what the hell is Moussa Sissoko’s excuse?!
To be fair to Newcastle fans, they warned Tottenham about Sissoko, a player that has only seemingly ever had one good game: the Euro 2016 final.
Once again in Belgium, Sissoko was a disaster and it is a sad indictment of his form and Tottenham’s transfer policy that he was played as a left wing back in the second half.
Tottenham fans, unsurprisingly, laid into the French midfielder on Twitter.

Sissoko bitterly disappointing as many predicted, I thought he'd bring something diff but been useless. Poch, the time for Edwards is now.

I'm all for giving players a chance but sissoko has to go, the guy has nothing to offer, why didn't we go for mane instead! What a waste

Sorry, we can't have Mane as his wages were 10k more a week that we want but here's 30 million quid for Moussa Sissoko. Fuck off.

Things I'll never say after losing on match day
-It's only a game
-I could watch that all over again
-Sissoko played well#coys

would rather have Ryan Nelsen and Louis Saha back at the club than Sissoko

It's almost as if #NUFC fans who watched Sissoko week in, week out for 4yrs were right about him being diabolical. Who'd have thought it!?

Pochettino wanted Mane who is exactly what we need in the summer, what he got given was Sissoko on deadline day! All you need to know there!

Ugggggly performance. Dembele's worst match in a long time but he wasn't close to the worst. Sissoko was 'will he get another chance?' bad.
