Sunderland 2 – Liverpool 2
Liverpool dropped points on Monday, in what could be a very costly draw at Sunderland.
Jurgen Klopp’s side may be top of the mini top six league but they have now dropped points to the lower placed teams in the Premier League, such as Sunderland, Bournemouth and Burnley.
The draw at Sunderland was particularly galling as Liverpool conceded two penalties and Jurgen Klopp was lost for words after the Premier League game.
Ragnar Klavan apologises
Whilst Ragnar Klavan has played well for Liverpool this season, there seems little doubt that if Joel Matip had stayed fit, the latter would be partnering Dejan Lovren in the centre of the defence.
Klavan was involved in the incident which saw Sunderland win their first penalty of the game, and after the match, the Estonian took to Instagram to apologise.
The 31-year-old wrote: “Not a good performance today, was not on my toes with the first penalty situation. But need to shake it off and keep on moving forward.”
See Klavan’s Instagram post below. Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne also seemed to apologise for the 2-2 draw.
