Liverpool fans have mixed reactions on Glen Johnson’s release from Anfield [Best Tweets]

The Premier League today announced the retained and released lists submitted by every Premier League club ahead of the 2015-16 season.

The lists revealed the entire contracted squad of every Premier League team, as well as revealing which players have been released in the summer from each club.

For Liverpool fans, the big name in their release list was defender Glen Johnson.

The former England right-back has been allowed to leave Merseyside after six seasons as a Red.

Signed for £18 million in 2009 from Portsmouth, the 30-year-old has not been offered a new contract by Brendan Rodgers, with the club wanting his £90,000-a-week wages off the payroll.

Johnson, often called John Glenson by Scouse fans, will unlikely to be missed by many Reds supporters, as the right-back has built up a reputation of being a liability in the past few seasons at the club.

Below are the best tweets from Liverpool fans on the departure of Glen Johnson.
