John Terry to leave Chelsea
On Easter Monday, Chelsea and John Terry released a joint statement confirming that the club captain and central defender would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
It came as little surprise since Terry had not signed a new deal and had played sparingly under Antonio Conte this season.
A couple of days ago, Terry simply posted pictures on Instagram and did not write anything to his over three million followers on the social media website.
“The toughest decision of my life”
On Wednesday, John Terry published a lengthy statement on Instagram, which covered two pages and needed the gallery feature to post two pages.
Terry described the decision to leave Chelsea “as the toughest” of his life but feels he is leaving Stamford Bridge on the “right terms.”
The former England defender goes on to thank Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as well as his family.
Finally, Terry thanks the fans and confirms his plans for the rest of the season as well as the fact that he will continue playing next season.
