Jack Wilshere sent off
Monday wasn’t a great day for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
Many have wondered why Wilshere remains on Arsenal’s books this season.
Having struggled to lock down a first team spot during his season-long loan spell at Bournemouth last year, few are expecting Wilshere to secure a starting berth for Arsenal this year.
Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Francis Coquelin all appear above Wilshere in the pecking order.
Either way, Wilshere was back in action for Arsenal U23s on Monday in a 4-3 win over Man City.
However the England international was sent off late on in the game after he lost his head following a bad foul from City’s Matt Smith.
Wilshere calls out the Sun
After the match, the Sun published an article titled “Jack Wilshere’s career hits new low after shock incident”.
That title clearly annoyed Wilshere, who has taken to social media to call out the tabloid.
Using Twitter, Wilshere has hit back saying: “Evening Sam…Intrigued to hear more about how you think this is a career low for me? Would love a sit down with you? Look forward to it.”

The Arsenal midfielder has also taken to Instagram after the Man City game.
While he tried to inject some humour into his sending off, Wilshere ended his post in defiant mood: “My passion and my hunger is back, buzzing for more games”.
