Romelu Lukaku v Mirror
Well, that escalated quickly.
On Monday morning, the Mirror posted a disparaging article about Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
The story was particularly eye-catching, as it claimed the Belgium striker was furious with his employers after they refused to fork out 6500 pounds to cover his fare back to Liverpool after international duty.
The Mirror claimed that Everton refused to pay the fare for Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas to return from Cyprus.
But while little was said about Mirallas’ reaction to the plane fare snub, Lukaku was fuming.
Lukaku: The Mirror’s story is lies
Everton face Sunderland on Monday night at the Stadium of Light, and the Lukaku story obviously had the potential of putting a dark cloud over the Toffees team ahead of kick-off.
But Lukaku has moved quickly to rubbish the story, claiming it’s complete and utter BS.
See Lukaku’s social media reaction below.
Waking up to some BS again this morning . C'mon man people don't have time to read these nonsense…
