Chelsea secure 2-0 win at Hull
Chelsea’s recent slump in form was arrested by a 2-0 win at Hull on Saturday.
It had been three without a win for Chelsea, who had lost to Liverpool and Arsenal, after drawing away at Swansea following a perfect start to the campaign.
Both Chelsea goals came after the hour mark thanks to Willian on 61 and Diego Costa on 67.
The victory takes Chelsea up to sixth in the Premier League table and should dispel any doubts that they will be fighting for the title and/or the top four for much of the campaign.
Antonio Conte’s formation change
Somewhat under pressure, with Roman Abramovich breathing down his neck, Antonio Conte changed the Chelsea formation quite significantly at Hull on Saturday.
The Blues played three at the back with Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso playing the role of wing backs.
With a minute to go, Nathaniel Chalobah came on for his first Premier League appearance.
Chalobah marked his Premier League debut with a picture on Instagram and also put a video on Instagram Stories of Chelsea players celebrating the win on the way home.
The clip, which can be seen below, features Brazilians Diego Costa, Oscar and David Luiz.
