Totti, Roma Legend
Francesco Totti is almost as synonymous with Rome as Julius Cesar at this point; he’s an emblem of the eternal city.
The 40-year-old has been with his boyhood club Roma since 1992, and has captained them for much of that period.
But in recent seasons Totti has seen his playing time greatly reduced, which has put him at loggerheads with coach Spaletti.
He shows that he’s still got it whenever called upon from the bench, but those cameos are increasingly few and far between, and it looks like this is set to be his last season at the club – as a player.
Sporting Director offer
Because obviously, Totti will continue with the Serie A club in some shape or form.
He’s basically obsessed with his boyhood club, and the fact that he’s stayed on for this long speaks volumes of his passion and undying love for the club.
And ESPN are now reporting that he’s been offered a 6-year contract to take on a new sporting director role next season.
