Barcelona have announced that they have tied down promising starlet Carles Aleñá to a new three-year deal with the option of a further two.
The 19-year-old will be given his extra two years if he is promoted to the first-team within the first three years of his new deal.
Alena was one of the key players for Barcelona B last season and will likely make an appearance in a Barcelona first team at some point soon.
The player has already played his first game for the first team and has also scored his first goal.
Alena made his first appearance on November 30th, 2016 at Hércules in the first leg of the Copa del Rey last 32.
He also scored his first goal during the game as the Catalan giants drew 1-1.
As specifically noted in the press release, the player now has a release clause of €75million which is likely to put several teams off signing him.
The club will have certainly learned after Paris Saint Germain triggered Neymar Jr’s supposedly crazy release clause.
There have been no suggestions as to whether the player will be sent out on loan at any point but that is a possibility.

One contract is now in doubt
While this is no doubt good news for Barcelona, there is some very negative news.
Andres Iniesta’s contract renewal now looks in serious doubt in which could be a massive blow to the club.
It was recently revealed by the player that for the first time in his career he is considering leaving.
There were conflicting reports that the player had agreed a deal in principle to stay.
That came from president Jose Maria Bartomeu, but those claims were quickly quashed by the player.
