AS Roma have this afternoon confirmed that midfielder Radja Nainggolan has signed a new long-term contract with the club, shunning the interest of a number of European giants.
Having moved into a more attacking role in the Italian capital last year, Nainggolan went on to enjoy by far the most fruitful campaign of his career, racking up 14 goals and 7 assists in all competitions, while continuing to showcase his defensive tenacity on the other side of the ball.
The 29-year-old Belgian international has been on the wishlist of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho for some time now, with fellow Premier League boss Antonio Conte also said to be a keen admirer of the talents of the all-action midfielder.
However, despite interest from both United, Chelsea and a rumoured 5 further giants of European football, Nainggolan has put to bed any and all questions surrounding his future this evening, having opted to sign a new deal with AS Roma.
The tenacious star has put pen-to-paper on a contract that will keep him at the Stadio Olimpico until 2021, as confirmed by the club’s official website.
