Nicklas Bendtner returning to England?
Cult footballer Nicklas Bendtner looks close to returning to English football and its a storied two-time European Cup winning side that will bag the Lord, according to widespread reports today.
Former Arsenal and Wolfsburg striker Nicklas Bendtner is reportedly close to signing for Nottingham Forest in the Championship.
Bendtner was released by Bundesliga side Wolfsburg late last season and is one of the most high profile free agents available on the market.
Bendtner could face Arsenal in 2 weeks
Antonis Oikonomidis, a Greek football journalist at Sportday and Sdna.gr, confirmed the news on Tuesday, and was verified by the Guardian’s Daniel Taylor, a reliable source and also a Nottingham Forest supporter. See Tweets below.
Nottingham Forest currently sit in seventh in The Championship, having bagged nine points from five matches this season. They have scored 11 goals in the process.
If Bendtner does sign for Nottingham Forest, he could well be facing former side Arsenal in just two weeks.
Nottingham Forest host Arsenal in the EFL Cup (the League Cup) two weeks today.
Never say never… After 3 weeks of hard negotiations, there's a very strong possibility for Nicklas Bendtner to be the last #nffc signing.

Nicklas Bendtner would be decent at this level. Just hope he's taken a huge wage cut… #nffc

We need a striker. Very short in that department. As long as wages are sensible I think its worth a gamble on Bendtner. Why not? #nffc

Would much prefer Adebayor or Berbatov if both still free agents over Bendtner #nffc
