As per numerous reports in the English press this afternoon, Premier League duo Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are set to fight it out over the signature of West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian.
On the move?
The Spaniard has been a Hammers player since his arrival from Real Betis in 2013.
However, following Joe Hart’s move to the Olympic Stadium being made official this afternoon, Adrian’s future in the English capital has been thrown into doubt.
The 30-year-old had already been in direct competition with Republic of Ireland international Darren Randolph at the club, with neither player now viewed as a certainty to remain.
As a result, both Newcastle United and Crystal Palace have set their sights on a move for Adrian over the coming weeks.
The Magpies were also rumoured to have been in the hunt for Hart, though the newly-promoted side have now switched their attention to both Adrian and Randolph.
Palace, on the other hand, are on the lookout for another shotstopper following Steve Mandanda’s return to Ligue 1 outift Marseille.
A fee has not yet been revealed for Adrian, though it is thought that an offer in the region of 10 million Euro could tempt West Ham into a sale.
