Liverpool’s January window
It’s January, which means lots of transfer links and stories, but much less actual transfers.
Few Premier League clubs actually use the winter window to strengthen these days, as it’s very difficult to find value for money.
But given Liverpool’s squad limitations and their quest for the Premier League title, the Reds could certainly be doing some business this month.
Liverpool’s goalkeeping crisis has been well documented: Loris Karius was installed as the number 1 keeper earlier in the season, but the German’s number 1 status didn’t last very long, and Klopp has now restored Mignolet to the number 1 spot, as the lesser of two evils, so to speak.
Aside from the keeper, the defensive line is another area that needs strengthening.
Subotic to Anfield?
And Neven Subotic could be one player on his way to Anfield.
The Serbian defender has been linked with a Liverpool move ever since Jurgen Klopp took over at Anfielld, and this January could finally be the time that it happens.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Subotic said:
‘Klopp has been my mentor for nine years, he supported me, encouraged me, had trust in me.
“With him and Dortmund I had the most amazing time. For that I am forever thankful.
“He was and is an important person in my life and I owe him a lot.”
