Manchester City are interested in signing West Bromich Albion defender Jonny Evans as they look to continue their heavy summer spending.
The former Manchester United defender has been tipped for a bigger move over the past few years but that has seemingly not come.
Though, no one would have expected the news on Wednesday evening when Sky Sports reported that Pep Guardiola’s side are interested in a move.
This comes from a side who have spent £50million on either fullback in their team and who have spent endless amounts this summer.
Signings Ederson, Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Danilo, Kyle Walker have all broke the bank but are in keeping with Manchester City’s standards.
City currently have Vincent Kompany, John Stones, Nicolás Otamendi and even Eliaquim Mangala who has returned from a loan at Valencia.
That would surely leave Evan’s playing time severely limited at the Etihad while he could continue at West Brom.
Not only that, Evans could also feel he would not like to move to the Cityzens after his experiences with rivals Manchester United.
Though, if City do seal a deal, you would imagine he could not turn it down.

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has made his return to football following eight months out with injury.
The German joined from Borussia Dortmund last summer but suffered a long-term injury during the season.
Now, he has returned to first team football after the Manchester City faced Girona in a mid-week friendly.
Gundogan featured during the game and could be in line to make his return in the next few weeks of Premier League fixtures.
