Man City forward admits that he’s ‘desperate’ to move to Spain

Hoping for Spain return

Manchester City fans probably love all the spending on world class players but it can’t be that fun for the stars already at the club. Sergio Aguero has had to look over his shoulder at incoming forwards like Gabriel Jesus.

Imagine what it feels like for a player who’s already finding first-team chances hard to come by.

That’s the case for Nolito, the former Celta Vigo star who fell out with Pep Guardiola midway through the season. After a promising start to life at City, Nolito was frozen out. He ended up starting just nine Premier League games.

He spoke to Spanish radio station Cadena COPE about how he’s desperate to return to Spain.

‘City keep buying players’

With quotes published by AS, Nolito said: “I’m crazy about returning to Spain. City keep signing players, we’ll see if they sign anyone else and make it easy for me to leave.”

City announced the signing of Bernardo Silva from AS Monaco last week for £43m.

Nolito went on to claim that Celta and Atletico Madrid were interested in signing him: “I hope I can leave, whether it’s on loan, a transfer or whatever. I have several teams I’d prefer to join but it depends on City.

“I have two years left to run on my contract.

“I know about the interest from Atlético and Celta… but they’re things for my agent to deal with.”
