Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has spoken about the upcoming season, and has claimed it could be the hardest season yet for the teams vying for the title.
He spoke about the amount of players who have been bought into the Premier League this summer, and the amount of cash that has been spent – in addition to the top class managers and talent that’s already in the top flight.
The Mirror report Kompany said: “It’s hard to say who are going to be favourites.
“In my opinion, more teams than ever can – not just can , but have to – claim that they want to be Premier League champions.
“The distinction is important. They have to, because everybody is investing heavily at the moment.”
One player who Man City won’t be getting this summer is Alexis Sanchez after it was reported that Arsenal are determined to keep him, and think it’s a better deal for them to have him for one final season, and then see him leave on a free than allow him to leave now.
City have landed several top players this summer, and think that they are in with a good shout of landing the title – and with the majority of bookies, are one of the favourites if not the favourite to do so.
