L’Equipe have picked their Team of the Year and it’s hard to argue with. Like, it doesn’t even respond to our insults. That really makes things difficult. Trolls need attention or we’ll starve. Feed us. Or don’t. Whatever.
Leicester City fans can savour the fact that one of their stars made the side – the one who left, though. N’Golo Kante came from nowhere to dominate the year, first with the Foxes then with Chelsea. He was unlucky to finish as a runner-up with France at Euro 2016. One other player from that France squad made the team: Antoine Griezmann.
The man who coached Portugal from the sidelines is on the left wing:
Fernando Santos Cristiano Ronaldo. Real Madrid teammates Marcelo, Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos are also included. One could make the case for Pepe being there instead of Ramos given the defender’s superb performances for Portugal.
The rest of the team is made up of superstars from Juventus and Barcelona. See it below.
