Messi’s interview with Mingo

Back in Argentina for the Albiceleste’s World Cup qualifiers, Leo Messi sat down with Argentine personality Mingo for a fun and engaging interview.

Famously shy and reserved with the media, it’s not often we see Messi so relaxed and candid in a video interview, and Mingo does a good job of putting Messi at ease.

Thiago doesn’t like football so much

After speaking about his decision to return to the Argentina fold (following his brief retirement), Messi and Mingo moved onto more casual stuff.

Asked why he dyed his hair blonde, Messi surprisingly said it had nothing to do with Aaron Ramsey.

On to family matters, Messi revealed that his son Thiago doesn’t actually like football so much.

You would think that being the son of one of the greatest players ever would give you some genetic predisposition to liking playing football, but it seems Thiago isn’t too bothered.

Messi said:

“I don’t buy him many balls or force him to play with them because he doesn’t like them that much.

Noting that Barcelona have a new project to get players’ kids playing football, Messi added “Let’s see if he gets hooked that way, it would be a good start.’
