Leicester sign Ndidi
Leicester City have beaten Manchester United to the signing of a Genk prodigy. Wilfred Ndidi has been a star for the Belgian club this season and his performances have earned him a move to England. Although Leicester didn’t disclose the transfer fee, it’s reportedly £15 million. The 20-year-old has agreed personal terms and had his medical.
He will sign a five-and-a-half-year deal upon the granting of a work permit.
N’Golo Kante replacement
The Foxes admit that they beat off considerable competition to secure Ndidi’s signature. He attracted plenty of admirers with his performances for the Belgian club domestically and in Europe.
The tall, energetic midfielder helped Genk to the last 16 of the Europa League. A full Nigeria international, he’s played against an Algeria side featuring Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani.
Claudio Ranieri is hoping that Ndidi will provide what’s been missing since Kante left. United were also believed to be interested in the 6’2 midfielder but miss out on this occasion.
