Kyle Walker was a slight doubt ahead of kick off but Pochettinho risked the full-back on Sunday.
The decision almost backfired as Walker had to be substituted in the second half.
Appearing to have a wrist injury, Walker was replaced in the 78th minute by Kieran Trippier.
Official word from Spurs was that Walker was not withdrawn because of the wrist injury, but manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted there was a problem of some sorts.
Walker was named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for upcoming matches against Germany (friendly) and Lithuania (World Cup Qualifier). The right-back has taken to Instagram to confirm he’ll be OK for those games.
Spurs won the match 2-1, with goals from Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli (penalty). James Ward-Prowse pulled one back in the 2nd half for the Saints but it wasn’t enough.
Next up for Spurs is a trip to Burnley after the international break.
