They want Emre
Liverpool are bracing themselves for an approach from Juventus for Emre Can, as the Serie A side eye up various midfielders across Europe.
They’ve also been linked with Chelsea’s want-a-way star Nemanja Matic, yet with a Manchester United move still possibly on the cards for him, Juve have once again turned their attentions to Can, and are thought to have made a bid of around 25 million euros for him according to Tuttosport.
Can’s contract will run out come 2018, and Klopp is confident he will sign a new deal, but should that not be the case, Liverpool are thought to be willing to let him leave in order to cash in and save a transfer headache that comes with players in the last year of their contracts.
Should a new deal be put forward, Can would expect to see a long term contract, and a payrise, given he’s a key part of Klopp’s squad.
Not only is Can a player who can be used in various positions, but he is also someone who will develop and grow as a player as he gets older – something Liverpool are aware of.
Arguably, Can’s best position has not yet been cemented, and finding that could again lead to a big strides forward in his development.
