Juan Mata on Man United’s win at Hull
Juan Mata started Manchester United’s match at Hull on Saturday but was off the pitch, having been substituted, before all the late drama.
The Spaniard has started every Premier League game under Jose Mourinho and will not be sold in the summer transfer window, as many had expected when The Special One arrived at Old Trafford.
As is pretty standard, Juan Mata has written his weekly blog on Monday and he talks at length about playing for Spain again as well as Manchester United’s dramatic win at Hull.
Mata returns to the Spain squad for matches against Belgium and Lichtenstein, whilst he also discusses how the big clubs have started in La Liga.
“Next time we will try to close the game earlier”
On Manchester United’s win at Hull, Mata says the following:
“As you can imagine, we reach the international break with plenty of energy and optimism after the third win in the Premier League. Last Saturday we suffered a lot to beat Hull, but Marcus Rashford’s late winner did justice to our performance. We tried everything during the 90 minutes and it was very exciting to celebrate the victory at the end with the team-mates and the fans who were there supporting us. Winning in the added time always leaves a special taste; however, next time we will try to close the game earlier.”
This is followed by a winking emoji from Mata who is clearly still on a high after the win at Hull.
