Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola are probably not used to hoping for the same result, but on Tuesday night it feels like both would have been rooting for a West Ham win.

Ultimately, it was in the best interests of both Mourinho and Guardiola that West Ham emerged victorious in the final ever game at Upton Park.

As it turned out, West Ham did win in their last match at the Boleyn Ground in stunning fashion against a Manchester United side that did need to bag a victory.

For Jose Mourinho, failiure for Manchester United to make the top four of the Premier League, would help his chances of taking over at Old Trafford.

From Pep Guardiola’s perspective, the current Bayern Munich coach will have been cheering on West Ham so that Manchester City can play Champions League football next season.

On Twitter, many were keeping tabs of just how Mourinho and Pep Guardiola would have felt during an enthralling match.

Thanks to a Dimitri Payet-inspired fightback and slack Manchester United marking, both Pep and Jose got the result they wanted.
