Hull v Arsenal: Premier League preview
Hull’s positive start to the campaign continued last weekend. The Tigers grabbed a valuable away point at Burnley.
Robert Snodrass scored a superb free kick in stoppage time to take Hull’s points total for the season to 7.
In their last home match, Hull proved a difficult side to break down against Manchester United. The Red Devils needed a last-gasp Marcus Rashford goal to snatch all 3 points from the KCOM Stadium.
Arsenal were in midweek Champions League action against Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsene Wenger surprised many with his team selection and the Gunners can count themselves quite lucky to have left the Parc des Princes with a point.
A win for Arsenal on Saturday would be their third consecutive victory in the Premier League after wins against Southampton and Watford.
Team news: Cech to return to goal
Eldin Jakupovic is expected to continue in goal for the home side as Allan McGregor remains sidelined.
Four Hull defenders are injured with another a slight doubt. Alex Bruce, Michael Dawson, Brian Lenihan and Moses Odubajo will all miss out.
Caretaker manager Mike Phelan has a full midfield and attack to choose from.
Petr Cech was rested on Tuesday, with David Ospina putting in a good shift as his replacement. Wenger confirmed that Cech would return to the starting line up on Saturday.
The manager also suggested that Theo Walcott would return to the side, but said that he would have to check on the fitness of Olivier Giroud who picked up a knock on Tuesday.
The match comes too soon for Aaron Ramsey as well as Gabriel Paulista, who is back in training.
Granit Xhaka is expected to start, having come off the bench in midweek. Lucas Perez could be given another opportunity up front. The forward was rested altogether on Tuesday.
