Gary Neville v Loris Karius

There was a special guest on Sky’s Sunday Supplement on Sunday.

The show was broadcast live from the Etihad Stadium, ahead of Man City’s match against Arsenal.

Former Man United defender Gary Neville was on the show, and he was grilled over his recent war of wars with Liverpool keeper Loris Karius in the media.

Neville has been critical of the Reds keeper after mistakes against Bournemouth and West Ham, while Simon Mignolet was recalled by Jurgen Klopp for the midweek game against Boro.

Neville on taking on pundits

The Sky Sports pundit held firm against Karius, claiming it’s never a smart idea for a footballer to take on a pundit.

But is that what we want? A sanitised football scene where players don’t feel comfortable speaking their mind?

Neville’s key comments included:

It was a story that grew and mushroomed out of nothing.

It’s not a criticism, it’s an observation in my job.
