Dante takes aim at Guardiola
Former Bayern Munich defender Dante has hit out at Pep Guardiola in a new interview with Sport Bild. The Brazilian played under the Manchester City boss when he was in charge at the Allianz Arena.
Dante said that while Guardiola was a great coach, he was ‘less brilliant as a human being’. It’s not the first time that the Spaniard has faced this type of criticism.
Not a great communicator
Franck Ribery recently spoke about irritating he found Guardiola in an interview, saying: “He is still a young coach. He lacks experience. Sometimes he talks too much, football is very simple.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was highly critical of the manager in his autobiography. He played under Guardiola at Barcelona before being forced out. He called him a ‘spineless coward’ in the book. He would follow that insult up by saying ‘he is not a man’ in an interview with CNN. Dante isn’t a fan of his management either.
The Nice defender said: “He doesn’t speak to you — as a player you don’t know where you stand. There’s trainers who are world-class tactically, but less brilliant as human beings — like Guardiola.”
