The Icelandic clap
Everton have announced the £45m club-record signing of playmaker Glyfi Sigurdsson with a fantastic reveal video showcasing the famous Iceland chant.
The Iceland national team crowd are well known for their incredible clap and Everton have used that in their classy reveal video of the Iceland star.
This comes after months of a drawn out saga that has been going on since the end of last season.
Sigurdsson has been a transfer target for Ronald Koeman for several transfer windows and was determined to sign him during the current window.
Now, he finally has his man after the two clubs found a compromise at a reported £45million fee, with Swansea demanding around £50m previously.
Gyfli underwent his medical this morning and Ronald Koeman confirmed in his press conference that everything went well and that a deal would be done shortly.
That is now the case with an official announcement coming on Wednesday evening for Everton fans to get excited about.
The Toffees face off against Croatian side Hajduk Split in the first leg of their second Europa League qualifier tomorrow evening.
Sigurdsson, Everton’s new club-record signing, will likely be paraded before the game or at half time.
The club will then be hoping for the player to be in the squad for Monday’s trip to Manchester City, a fixture Sigurdsson scored in last season.
