Disappointing injury update on Chelsea’s Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard injury update

Eden Hazard was absent on Saturday as Antonio Conte’s men won 2-1 away at Stoke, and after the game the Italian addressed rumours about Hazard’s health.

Conte confirmed that Hazard missed the Stoke game after picking up a calf injury in training. His setback wasn’t related to the kicks he received last Monday night against Man United in the FA Cup.

While some in Belgium have cast doubts over Hazard’s injury, it’s unfair to question the Chelsea star’s commitment to his national team.

Hazard has played 50 out of 56 Belgium games in last five years. That’s not the record of a flake.

But here’s the bad news

Nevertheless, on Monday morning it’s been confirmed that Hazard has pulled out of the latest Belgium get-together.

Belgium take on Greece in a 2018 World Cup qualifier, before facing Russia in a friendly.

While Hazard’s injury isn’t thought to be anything too concerning, it’s clear Chelsea want to wrap up their star in cotton wool.

Updates on Hazard’s health are below.
