Spurs stars after West Brom

Chelsea, Spurs & Jurgen Klopp’s stars dominate BBC EPL team of the week

BBC Team of the Week

As always on a Monday, Garth Crooks has picked his Premier League team of the week for the BBC.

This week’s selection is dominated by the three teams in the top three spots in the EPL: Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool.

The back five

Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet was picked between the sticks following the 1-1 draw away at Man United on Sunday.

The Reds stopper was joined by Dejan Lovren in defence, while Tottenham defenders Kyle Walker and Toby Alderweireld both made the cut following the 4-0 win over West Brom at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

The final defensive slot was filled by Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso, who scored a brace in the 3-0 away win at Leicester.

The midfield four

Sticking with Chelsea, Pedro earned a spot in the team after he also got on the Blues scoresheet at the King Power Stadium.

Everton teenager Tom Davies booked his spot in the XI after his goalscoring performance in the 4-0 thrashing of Man City at Goodison Park.

Stoke’s Marko Arnautovic was also in the team after his brace away at Sunderland, while Christian Eriksen completed the midfield four after another excellent performance for Tottenham.

The front two

After scoring one of the goals of the season in the win over Crystal Palace, West Ham striker Andy Carroll was selected in attack.

The final spot in the XI went to Harry Kane following his hat-trick for Tottenham against the Baggies.
