Gazzetta dello Sport’s European team of the week is back.

Every Monday during the European league season, the famous Italian pink paper pick the best XI of the week.

Crucially, Gazzetta’s team is made up of all European baed players save for those plying their trade in Serie A.

The first selection of the new season includes three Premier League stars: one from Chelsea, one from Man United and one from West Ham.

Who made the cut?

Chelsea won 2-1 at Wembley on Sunday to beat Tottenham.

The star of the show for Chelsea was Marcos Alonso. He scored twice for the reigning champs to register their first win of the new campaign.

Gazzetta included the Blues star as part of a three-man defence.

Moving into midfield, Man United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan also made the team.

Mkhitaryan has started the new season on fire, with four assists in his opening two Premier League fixtures. Is the Armenian star finally bakc to his Borussia Dortmund form?

Finally, West Ham striker Javier Hernandez also made the XI.

West Ham suffered their second defeat of the new season losing 3-2 at Southampton, but the Mexican international forward chipped in with a brace.
