Mourinho v Conte

Chelsea delay Matic to Man United deal until they get one key promise from Mourinho

No chase for another target

Chelsea are willing to sell Nemanja Matic to Manchester United and former manager Jose Mourinho, that much is clear, but Antonio Conte has a couple of conditions according to the Daily Record.

Not only does he want a fee of between £35 and £40 million for Matic, who Mourinho of course initially ordered the Chelsea board to resign, but he wants United to drop their interest in one of his targets.

Radja Nainggolan is the man Conte wants, and he will not allow Man United to land Matic until he gets assurances the Blues will be allowed free run of the midfielder.

Big deal

Any time a rival player joins another club, it’s considered a big deal and it seems that Chelsea could well find that out the hard way should Matic and Mourinho link up successfully once again.

The Blues are also waiting to announce the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko and that is also thought to be something they are waiting for before they allow Matic to leave.
