Chelsea defender joins Hull City on loan

Championship outfit Hull City have today confirmed the loan signing of Chelsea defender Michael Hector.

Blues struggles

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Reading in 2015, Jamaican stopper Hector has so far failed to make a senior appearance for Chelsea, having been sent out on loan for the past two seasons.

A temporary move back to Reading for the 2015-16 campaign was followed by a stint at Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt last season, where the central defender, who can also play in midfield, made 27 appearances across all competitions.

Championship bound

Remarkably, over the course of his 8 year career to date, Hector has lined out for 13 teams, including the likes of Oxford City, Irish outfit Dundalk and Scottish side Aberdeen.

His latest club, in the form of Hull City, were said to have been impressed by the 25-year-old’s performances in the top-tier of German football last season, and confirmed the imposing defender’s arrival across their social media platforms this afternoon:
