Gedion Zelalem to Dortmund?
Borussia Dortmund are closing in on a move for Gedion Zelalem, according to ESPN.
The 19-year-old has hardly featured for Arsenal this season, and has had to content himself with the domestic cups.
He’s yet to feature in the league or Champions League, and there doesn’t seem to be much sign of him breaking into the team any time soon.
It’s a curious situation, given that he impressed during his loan spell at Scottish giants Rangers last season.
So with Zelalem left out of the Arsenal picture, Dortmund believe they can take advantage and lure him back to the country of his birth, with the added bonus that his Dad is a Dortmund fan.
Wenger no longer giving youth a chance
If Zelalem does leave, his departure will add to the decreasing trend of Wenger giving youth a chance.
There was a time when Wenger was famed for using young players in big games, and for always looking to the academy for the next big player.
