Update Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
The striker is currently back in his homeland ahead of the upcoming African Cup of Nations competition in Gabon.
Aubameyang is arguably the biggest star in the competition, being one of the top strikers in world football.
He’s currently the leading scorer in the Bundesliga having bagged 16 goals for Borussia Dortmund already this campaign.
For an extremely long time already, Aubameyang has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Aubameyang recently scored against Los Blancos in the Champions League and has made no secret of his desire to sign for the club his grandfather supported.
But will the deal ever happen?
Bild don’t think so
According to the German outlet, Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has no intention of bringing the striker to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The way Bild tell the story, Zidane isn’t a fan of Aubameyang, and the French coach has put the kibosh on any deal.
According to Bild’s information, the striker’s name has been raised at the meetings to plan the future signings at Real Madrid, but Zidane believes he’s got cover in the final third of the pitch, while moreover he doesn’t believe the Gabon striker would fit the needs of his team.
With Real supposedly out of the picture, Bild believe PSG are the biggest club chasing Aubameyang.
From the outside, the whole story seems hard to swallow as most would think Aubameyang would be a major asset to any club who were lucky enough to have him.
For the record, Real are subject to a transfer embargo until the summer.
