Claudio Ranieri & Riyad Mahrez
Are Leicester in a relegation scrap this season?
In one of the stats of the season, the reigning Premier League champs have 13 points from 13 EPL matches this season – which is the same amount of points Leicester have totalled in just five matches in the Champions League.
On Saturday, the Foxes suffered yet another frustrating day as they were held 2-2 by Boro at home.
That lead to claims that Claudio Ranieri should be fired and replaced by former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson.
Moreover, the BBC seemed to hint at a problem between Ranieri and star midfielder Riyad Mahrez.
What happened when Mahrez was subbed
In the post match summary of the game, the BBC reported on a frosty exchange between Leicester’s boss and Ranieri. The following statement was made on air:
Ranieri [failed] to give Mahrez the complimentary and customarily handshake.
It was a small remark, but one that suggested a deeper problem at the King Power Stadium.
Is Mahrez now wishing he’d joined Arsenal in the summer?
Maybe Jamie Vardy is wishing that too!
