Barcelona Secretary Robert Fernández has confirmed that players will have to leave as club look to sign Phillipe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele.
The official confirmed that the club are looking to seal a deal for the two players in the coming weeks but it may yet not happen.
That is due to Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, who the official claims the final decision will fall on their shoulders.
Though, his most interesting comment comes in the form of potential outgoing as Fernandez confirmed some players will leave.
Fernandez explained that: “People will leave because there will be arrivals”.
There had been several Barcelona players linked with a move away from the Camp Nou in recent weeks due to the transfer window.
Andre Gomes and Ivan Rakitic have been linked with moves while Aleix Vidal and fringe players have also been touted for moves.
Coutinho and Dembele updates
While Barcelona fans are eager for news over the futures of Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, they may have to wait a bit longer.
Fernandez confirmed that negotiations are ongoing and that the club are hoping for “a favorable conclusion for us and them.”
“They are two players we want to sign as they would adapt well to our style of football,” Fernandez continued.
“But their Clubs will decide if we can complete the signings or not.”

Coutinho continues to be ruled out
While his transfer speculation continues to rumble on, Philippe Coutinho continues to be ruled out with an apparent back injury.
The player missed the trip to face Watford last week as Liverpool were shocked late on by the Hornets who made it 3-3 in the dying minutes.
The Brazilian also missed the trip to Hoffenheim on Tuesday for the clubs Champions League qualifier.
It has also been reported that the player will now miss Liverpool’s next clash which comes at the weekend against Crystal Palace.
