Former Metz winger Ismaila Sarr has confirmed that he rejected Barcelona in the summer to join Rennes as he targets first team football.
The Senegalese player is seen to be a very talented 19-year-old and it lead to the Catalan giants pursuing the player.
A deal was said to be worth €17m in what is a decent fee for an untested youngster with only one season under his belt.
Though, it seems the player has his head screwed on when it comes to big transfers after rejecting Barcelona in favour of a sensible move.
Sarr moved to Stade Rennais in what will likely bring much more first team opportunities than spending it abroad.
Whether Barcelona will return for the player is yet to be seen but no doubt they will be keeping a very close eye on him.
Ismaila Sarr confirms he rejected Barcelona to join Rennes: "Going from Metz to Barcelona was too big a jump." €17m deal.

Barca confident on top target
Even though they have seemingly missed out on one target, they are confident of landing their top target.
The target has been linked with the club all summer but a deal has been hard to come by. 1
