Man United & Ivan Perisic
A week ago today, the Independent announced Ivan Perisic was expected to become a Manchester United player within seven days.
That’s now looking like it’s not going to happen.
Despite the Croatian international recently pulling out of an Inter Milan pre-season friendly with a reported toothache, Perisic is still very much an Inter player.
On Tuesday, the club have revealed their touring party for their pre-season trip to China and Singapore, and Perisic has been included.
How will travelling to Asia with the Nerazzurri help or hinder Perisic’s hopes of switching to Old Trafford? That’s unknown, but’s not the news Man United fans were hoping to hear today.

On Monday, a couple of reports out of England suggested the Perisic deal with Man United was imminent.
Miguel Delaney, the chief football writer at Independent, reported the deal was “very close”, while he was backed up by the Guardian’s Barney Ronay in believing the Perisic transfer is close to completion.
Perisic now very close. Will be good signing. Crosses the ball almost five times more than United's current wingers – needed with Lukaku!
