Aaron Ramsey injury update
The Evening Standard has posted an update on Aaron Ramsey’s likely timetable back from injury on Thursday.
Unfortunately for the Gunners midfielder, the signs aren’t great.
Ramsey picked up a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s opening day defeat to Liverpool, and he’s not featured since.
According to the Standard, it’s now highly likely that Ramsey misses out on the next Welsh international get-together in October due to his fitness. As reported:
Wales fear that Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey may miss their World Cup qualifiers at the start of next month as he continues to struggle with a hamstring injury.
Standard Sport understands that the Welsh FA have not made a concrete decision on whether to call up Ramsey but assistant manager Osian Roberts offered a downbeat assessment of the midfielder’s prospects of making the party for the October games on BBC Wales Sport.
Who may benefit?
While no one likes to see players out through injury, Ramsey’s absence will have a knock-on effect in Arsenal’s XI.
Theo Walcott could continue to feature heavily for the Gunners in light of Ramsey’s continued absence, while Alex Iwobi is also set to be a regular feature in Arsene Wenger’s team.
Arsenal take on Chelsea this weekend.
