Arsene Wenger waving goodbye

Arsene Wenger will tell Arsenal board that he wants to stay

Wenger wants to stay

It’s been a big night regarding news about Arsenal’s managerial situation. Arsene Wenger – is he staying or is he going? If you read Bild’s big story of the night then you’d be expecting him to head for the exit.

But the Telegraph exclusively report that the Frenchman is going to make it clear to the Arsenal board that he wants to stay on. Any decision that they reach will be mutual. Despite this being one of the worst seasons of Wenger’s 21-year reign, a two-year deal is apparently still on the table. But if things worsen, that could change.

The club are currently in 6th place in the Premier League having recently crashed out of the Champions League in humiliating circumstances. Bayern Munich destroyed the Gunners over two legs, winning 10-2 on aggregate.

Looking ahead

Wenger is apparently still involved in long-term planning so he could be sticking around.

It makes sense that he wouldn’t want to leave on such a depressing note.

But Arsenal fans mightn’t consider that when they read this story.
