On the road to recovery
Arsenal are set to receive a big boost in the form of Santi Cazorla as the player returns from injury, though won’t be ready until the end of the season.
The Spaniard has suffered several setbacks during the past 11 months but is now well on the way to recovery.
Santi suffered an ankle injury and was unable to recover from the injury, leading to several operations over the past year which have been difficult.
That has left the midfielder without any footballing activity and generally no activity at all as he looked to recover fully.
Now, the player has returned to light running training at Arsenal which Arsene Wenger confirmed in his press conference today.
Santi is having his first run today, so that is quite positive,” Wenger explained.
“The flexibility of his ankle looks good, his mobility is good and now it’s back to getting back to full fitness without having any set-backs.”
“So it’s very difficult to predict when he will be available again.”
Regardless of when he will be back, the fact that Cazorla is clearly nearing his return will be a huge boost for Arsenal.
The Spaniard has been a huge miss for the club and his creativity and quality will no doubt help Arsenal if he can get back to his best.
Cazorla having his first run today. "I hope after Christmas he will be available," says Wenger.
