Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has offered his support to Chelsea defender John Terry, who saw red during the FA Cup third round clash against Peterborough.
While the internet and majority of pundits laid into Terry, and questioned if he would play for the club again, Conte was in full support of the player, and made sure he told the press just that.
Conte said: “John played a really good game. For me, in this season he has shown me great ability.”
Conte claimed that the decision to send the Chelsea skipper off was ‘not right’ and that obviously hints that the club may well appeal the decision.
The red card and ban coming Terry’s way aside, the words from Conte do at least suggest that Terry may well have a future at Chelsea after all this season – something many people felt might not be the case after the sending off.
