Alvaro Morata’s 1st interview in London on way to Chelsea medical

Soon-to-be Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has this afternoon taken his first interview in the English capital ahead of his medical with the Stamford Bridge side.

Done deal

Following months of speculation which saw the Spanish international heavily linked with the likes of Manchester United and AC Milan, it was announced yesterday afternoon that Premier League champions Chelsea had agreed a deal with Real Madrid for the 24-year-old.

The transfer is expected to cost the Blues a fee in the region of 80 million Euro plus bonuses, with Morata set to become Antonio Conte’s new first-choice centre-forward (Diego Costa’s move to Atletico Madrid is now imminent).

Spaniard speaks

Having arrived in London this morning, it didn’t take long for Morata to be questioned on his decision to join Chelsea, with the former Juventus star providing an insight into his thoughts on the Premier League, new boss Antonio Conte and advice from fellow Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta.
