After a blistering 2011/2012 season, ending with Juventus as Scudetto winners, the Old Lady have pretty much continued where they left off in the new campaign.
In Beijing, they emerged as 4-2 victors over Napoli to secure the Italian Super Cup and kicked off their Serie A title defence last week with a 2-0 win over Parma last weekend.
Juventus look like being even stronger on Sunday afternoon with Gigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini returning to training this week and there is even a possibility that new striker Nicklas Bendtner may play a part.
Udinese, on the other hand, have been described as a “wounded” by Juventus stand-in Coach Massimo Carrera after their elimination on penalties at the Champions League play-off stage by Braga.
Maicosuel was the fall guy with a rather expensive Panenka penalty miss but Udinese were also poor at Fiorentina in their first Serie A game of the season, surrendering a 1-0 advantage to the Viola to lose 2-1.
Odion Ighalo, Giampiero Pinzi and Paulo Barreto look set to miss out due to injury for Udinese. Whilst the home support will be wary of Kwadwo Asamoah (pictured above) who returns after moving to Juventus in the summer and the Ghanaian has been impressive so far in Turin.
