During his time at Arsenal, Southampton, Fulham and West Ham in the Premier League, Luis Boa Morte never really threatened to do anything like this!
Boa Morte appeared for a Luis Figo XI in a charity match on Saturday as the former Barcelona and Real Madrid star led a team against Venezuelan champions Deportivo Anzoátegui.
Figo’s side went down 2-0 but brought it back to 2-2 thanks to a brace from Boa Morte, the second of which was the penalty below that will surely go viral.
Boa Morte’s last club was Chesterfield, who let him go in January. Perhaps at 35, a club will take a punt on an experienced (and cheeky) penalty taker!
The side of all-stars led by Luis Figo, also featured Vítor Baía, Michel Salgado, Pedro Mendes, Emerson, Gaizka Mendieta, Santiago Solari, Faustino Asprilla and Emmanuel Petit.
They eventually won out thanks to a late goal by Santiago Solari, to secure a 3-2 victory.
