Following Liverpool’s surprise 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa yesterday, the video below could cheer up disgruntled supporters of the Merseyside giants, that the club has a bright future.
An Under-19 Liverpool side beat their Singapore counterparts 1-0 in the NexLions Cup on Friday.
German youngster Samed Yesil claimed the only goal of the match in the 27th minute, scoring a stunning back heel for the Liverpool side in front of just over 4,000 supporters in the Jalan Besar Stadium.
Yesil has so far failed to impress during his rare appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ first choice Liverpool side this season.
But, the former Bayer Leverkusen youngster, who was compared to Gerd Muller earlier in his career, has an outstanding goal scoring record at youth level.
According to reports, Yesil could well have scored more than once against Singapore Under-19s and will be the danger man when Liverpool face Sporting Lisbon in the NexLions Cup final later on Sunday.
