Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan recently stepped down as chairman of the club, appointing his 23 year old grandson, David Sharpe, in his place.
On Saturday he gave a goodbye speech to the Wigan fans ahead of their Championship game against Leeds United.
The controversial former owner received a fair amount of stick from the travelling Leeds fans but got some revenge during his speech.
Whelan trolled the Leeds United fans after mentioning Wigan’s recent FA Cup victory: “Leeds United have not won the cup in 25 years“.
Leeds had the last laugh, beating Wigan 1-0 to continue their fine form of 2015.
