35 beers: Ray Parlour tells amazing drinking tale from Arsenal’s 1998 campaign (Video)
In 1998 Arsenal won a Premier League and FA Cup double but it definitely was not down to their healthy routine, according to former midfielder Ray Parlour.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the Englishman admitted that there was a smoking culture at Arsenal – which still somewhat exists – and also told a fantastic story about taking Gilles Grimandi to a bar.
Ray Parlour said Steve Bould went to the bar and ordered 35 pints for a total of five Arsenal players, to the bemusement of the French defender.
